Men Hairstyles 2011/2012

Today men pay more attention to their hairstyle than 20-50 years ago. Back then it was enough to go to the barbershop, get a shave and at the same time also a standart haircut. No one would ever consider going to a hairstylist. They were strictly for women. Of course, today the modern man goes to the stylist in an attempt to replicate today´s newest fashion trends. There is a large choice of modern hairstyles for the stylish man. For example, one particular style calls for the back of the neck to be completely shaved while the top portion of the hair is long. Another style is to grow one´s hair out in the pageboy style or to simply a ponytail. Some men hide their ears under their hair while others keep them exposed. Some of more trendy men prefer to gel their bangs.

A few of more radical young men choose to express their individuality by shaving patterns and designs into their hair. These designs can consist of the names of their lovers, fantasy symbols or their favourite sport teams.

From black to platinum the palette of today´s stylist is endless.

However, men also follow trendsetters like David Beckham, Brad Pitt or last but not least Elvis Presley. He influenced an entire generation with his unique hairstyle. One can easily say, that Elvis Presley impacted the way men viewed themselves. For the first time a man would spend as much time as a woman in styling their hair. Today the wavy hair is normal for men. The society in general subscribes to the belief that men shoeld also be style conscious. Today people value looking good with a nice suit, a stylish haircut suggests success in the job and the private life. Furthermore it stands for youth and health. Some hairstyles were unthinkable 10 or 15 years ado, and are now acceptable, if they fit the stereotype.

Now it is fairly common for one to see businessmen wearing the same styles with full self-assurance. To achieve these radical hairstyles, one must now use a wide assortment of products designed to restore the haircolour men now have the the tools they need to take proper care of their style.

It is not considered more maculine to be sweaty and unkempt as it was back in the day. The modern man can look a little bit wild, but only so long as he has done it intentionally.
